1999, 1998 and 1997 Bordeaux (May 2000)

Good red-ruby. Currant, plum and smoky oak on the nose. Fat, suave and smooth; not a powerful style but offers lovely depth of flavor. Finishes with rather smooth tannins and good length.

2012 Bordeaux: Messages in a Bottle (Jan 2016)

The 2012 Clos Margalaine is a fabulous second wine from Marojallia. Supple, racy and forward, the 2012 will drink well upon release. Red cherry, plum, smoke, cedar, iron and white pepper all add nuance. This succulent Margaux is quite expressive and inviting today.

This deep, resonant Pessac-Léognan could use another year or so to fully come together, but it is promising. Branon emerges from a two hectare…

Sweet, concentrated and fairly thick, but with peppery acidity and menthol notes enlivening the moderately concentrated black fruit flavors. Turns dry and astringent on the persistent finish, hinting at an underlying green streak. This appears to have been…

2012 Bordeaux: Messages in a Bottle (Jan 2016)

The 2012 Le Plus, 100% old-vine Merlot, is absolutely gorgeous. Sweet dark cherries, plums and raspberry jam open up in a powerful, sensual wine endowed with striking depth and tons of pure appeal. This is Hubert de Boüard’s top wine from his Lalande de Pomerol property, and it is terrific.
