Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022: Bring It On (Jun 2024)

Ripe red fruits, black cherry and spicy nuances introduce the 2021 Côtes-du-Rhône Coudoulet de Beaucastel. Polished and harmonious, it closes with good drive on the pleasant finish, which is a tad shorter compared to preceding vintages.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2022: Bring It On (Jun 2024)

Bottled in June 2023, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape ended up slightly below my initial assessment from barrel last year. Nonetheless, it presents a distinctively elegant and refreshing character that’s neatly defined by ripe black cherry, licorice, violet, strawberry and meaty traces. Round tannins neatly frame this savory and polished red that offers highly enjoyable drinking right…

The 2015 Berliquet has turned out beautifully. Sumptuous and inviting, it possesses remarkable depth and fruit intensity. Super-ripe red cherry, raspberry, wild flowers and mint all develop in this gracious, midweight Saint-Émilion.

2006, 2005 and 2004 Bordeaux (May 2007)

Bright ruby-red. Moderately ripe but aromatic nose of dark cherry and flowers. Supple on entry, then fairly round in the middle and not a bit overextracted. There’s an attractive chewiness to the dark cherry flavor, and the wine’s texture supports its firm tannins. A bit herbal but persistent on the end.

You’re Unbelievable: Bordeaux 2022 (May 2023)

The 2022 Château Margaux represents 40% of the crop this year, slightly higher than recent years, picked between 8 and 27 September. As usual, the Grand Vin demands more time to unfold on the nose compared to the Pavillon. It unveils enticing scents of macerated black cherries, blueberry, violet and hints of orange blossom all…
