2007 and 2005 Sauternes and Barsacs (Jul 2008)

Full yellow-gold. Expressive aromas of pineapple, coconut, sweet vanillin oak and spices. Then wonderfully thick, fat and sweet, with the exotic coconut character carrying through in the mouth. Finishes saline and powerful, with palate-staining flavors of pineapple, coconut and spicy oak. Conveys a strong impression of solidity.

Never a Dull Vintage in the Northern Rhône (Dec 2022)

Deep, vivid ruby. Highly perfumed, incisive aromas of cherry and raspberry, incense, exotic spices and licorice, plus a bright mineral overtone that builds in the glass. Never a Dull Vintage in the Northern Rhône (Dec 2022)

Shimmering ruby. Expressive, spice-accented red and dark berry aromas are complemented by suggestions of olive, espresso and candied flowers. Juicy and energetic on the palate, offering gently sweet cherry and cassis flavors that deepen through the back half. Finishes very long, spicy and smooth, with even tannins lending final grip.

The bottle opened at the château with Eric Monneret shows more graphite/pencil lead elements. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins, linear in style, fresh with a vibrant…

2020 Bordeaux En Primeur: Almost Back to Normal (Jun 2021)

The 2020 La Pointe is quite pretty and soft. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, cedar, mint and pipe tobacco all grace this Pomerol, which impresses with grace more than power. Silky tannins add to its immediacy. Not a big wine, but it sure is a charmer.
