2019 Bordeaux from Bottle: The Two Towers (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Cantemerle is a very pretty and understated wine. Sweet red cherry, plum, blood orange, spice, tobacco, leather and dried herbs all grace this expressive Haut-Médoc. The 2019 is super classy from start to finish, but there is a bit less depth and overall substance than there was at the outset.

Omne Trium Perfectum: Bordeaux 2019s in Bottle (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Cantemerle showed great potential from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, though it has firmed up since…

2019 Bordeaux from Bottle: The Two Towers (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Beaumont is a powerful, burly Haut-Médoc. Black cherry, herb, licorice, tobacco and game all run through this potent wine. The 2019 is a bit rough around the edges, but it will do just fine at the dinner table. Expressive Cabernet Sauvignon accents build nicely into the finish.

Omne Trium Perfectum: Bordeaux 2019s in Bottle (Feb 2022)

The 2019 Beaumont, cropped at 50hL/ha, has a lovely, delineated bouquet of blackberry, briary and light tobacco notes. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and not quite as supple as before, though I appreciate the tangy seaweed note toward the finish. Just what you want from a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.

The Barossa: An Ascent to Higher Quality (Dec 2021)

Saturated ruby. Heady cherry and raspberry liqueur scents that are complemented by suggestions of incense, exotic spices and candied flowers. Sappy and expansive in the mouth, offering alluring sweet red and blue fruit and floral pastille flavors and a spice note of white pepper. Shows impressive depth and finishes with excellent clarity, harmonious tannins and…

One of the more accessible wines of the year today, the 1996 Dom Pérignon impresses for its exceptional balance and class. Lemon peel, white flowers and mint are laced together in the glass. The 1996 is in a terrific place today where it can be enjoyed or cellared for a number of years.
