Vintage Seeks Home: Bordeaux 2017 In Bottle (Jan 2020)

The 2017 Les Ormes de Pez has a tightly would bouquet with tertiary, slightly ferrous red berry fruit, perhaps needing a little more cohesion that should evolve with bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with a balsamic-tinged entry, moderate depth, good density but just missing a little flair and nuance on what feels like a…

Bordeaux 2011: Tales of Tannins and Terroir (May 2012)

Deep ruby. Cassis, violet and truffle on the rich nose. Then sweet and smooth on the palate, with ripe tannic support for the wine’s red fruit, tobacco and loam flavors. This is not…

2011 Bordeaux from the Bottle (Jul 2014)

Bright dark ruby. Crushed dark berries, vanilla, graphite and a whiff of underbrush on the nose and palate. Offers good texture but I would have liked just a bit more complexity and volume. Finishes with a saline nuance, bright acidity and substantial dusty tannins.
