Joel Payne on Germany 2005 (Jan 2007)

Pale green-tinged yellow. Bright aromas of white nectarine, green apple and acacia blossom.Savory, sweet apricot pit flavor refreshed by a touch of lemon oil. A very nicely balanced wine with the weight and depth of a fine spatlese-and fun to drink!

Bordeaux ’08: Far Better Than Expected (May 2009)

Deep ruby. Exotic nose shows almost exaggerated aromas of smoky black cherry, coffee, Oriental spices and soy sauce. The 2022 Chardonnay The Judge is silky, creamy and beautifully resonant in the glass. Supple contours wrap it all together in style. Lemon peel, white flowers, graphite, mint and white pepper confer notable freshness. All the elements are so well balanced in this striking, harmonious Chardonnay.

Gorgeous blackberry and raspberry scents feature on the nose, the new oak supportive and beautifully enmeshed. The palate is very well balanced with supple tannins, a keen line of acidity…

Bordeaux 2018: Not Back in Black (Mar 2021)

The 2018 Desmirail is a gorgeous wine for readers who want a bottle to drink now. Plush and inviting, the 2018 possesses terrific depth in its inky dark fruit. Spice, chocolate, dried herbs and licorice add pretty aromatic top notes to balance all of that natural richness. All the elements are harmonious and impeccably balanced….
