Finally: Bordeaux 2015 In Bottle (Jul 2019)

The 2015 Ségla reveals baked cherries, hoisin and light cedar aromas on the nose, which is tightly wound at first but gains intensity with aeration. The oak is neatly integrated. The very well-balanced, medium-bodied palate features firm tannin, commendable purity, smooth texture and just a touch of white pepper and graphite toward the persistent finish….

Bordeaux 2010: All That Glitters… (May 2011)

(70% cabernet sauvignon, 23% merlot, 4% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc; 72 IPT; 13.5% alcohol) Inky-purple. Bright, floral, cabernet sauvignon-dominated nose offers red berry and mineral aromas. Then more red berries on the palate, with a saline nuance on the persistent, fleshy finish. Bright acidity really extends the flavors of red berries and underbrush….

A Century of Bordeaux: The Eights (May 2018)

The 1998 Saint-Pierre offers blackberry, sage, cedar and tobacco on the nose, funnily enough not quite as expressive as the 1988 from magnum at this stage. It probably just needs some time to open. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a little green on the entry but nothing to get concerned about. And that…

2000, 1999 and 1998 Bordeaux (May 2001)

Dark red. Currant and mint on the slightly herbaceous nose. Supple, easygoing flavors of plum, currant, tobacco and herbs. In a lighter style, but seems far gentler today than it did a year ago from barrel, when the middle palate was much more austere. Finishes with slightly drying tannins.

The Annual Red Bordeaux Report (May 2003)

Medium red-ruby. Aromas of roasted plum and stewed tomato. Fat, silky and sweet, with flavors of liqueur-like red berries, minerals and truffle. Finishes with big but sweet tannins and very good length. But a bit heavyhanded next to the 2000 La Dominique, without that wine’s verve in the middle palate.

The Annual Red Bordeaux Report (May 2005)

(58% cabernet sauvignon, 36% merlot and 6% cabernet franc) Good bright ruby-red. Pungent herbs, licorice, graphite and minerals on the nose. Then supple, rich and generous, without losing its Pauillac reserve. Juicy acids extend the fruit. Finishes with rather suave tannins that build with aeration.
