2011 Red Burgundies (Mar 2014)

(vinified entirely with whole clusters): Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, pepper and herbs. At once silky and imploded, with tightly wound flavors of tart cranberry, pepper and spices. This very lively, firmly tannic wine needs time in bottle and will merit a higher score if it gains in pliancy.

A Vintage with Issues: Burgundy 2021 (Oct 2025)

The 2021 Chambertin Grand Cru has a strangely evolved bouquet with open-knit red cherries and strawberry fruit, though it does not quite deliver the depth of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red cherry and raspberry fruit on the entry. Fine backbone here, tensile, and there is a tangy blood orange note towards…

La Lumière Noire: 2019 Burgundy – Côte de Beaune (Dec 2020)

The 2019 Musigny Grand Cru is another cuvée in which Jadot has included 30% whole clusters. It has a fresh, vibrant bouquet of mainly black fruit infused with black pepper, truffle and sous-bois and gaining in intensity with every swirl of the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and very well balanced, displaying…

Dance the Quickstep: Burgundy 2020 (Dec 2021)

The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru contains 30% whole bunch, although it is difficult to tell. It has a beautiful bouquet with plush black cherry and blueberry fruit, crushed violets and incense blossoming with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins. There is a fine bead of acidity here, fresh and harmonious, slightly…

Now, For My Latest Trick: Burgundy 2022 (Jan 2024)

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village has a mixture of blackberry and raspberry fruit on the nose, focused and quite mineral-driven, yet perfectly in control. The palate has a lovely elegant entry and very fine tannins, the 55% whole bunches very well assimilated and imparting a light peppery note on the finish. Superb.

Pump Up The Volume: 2019 Burgundy – Blind (Dec 2023)

The 2019 Chambertin Grand Cru offers plenty of fruit concentration on the nose—raspberry, wild strawberry and cranberry—and a touch of Earl Grey and crushed stone. This is complex and so engaging. The palate is medium-bodied, with finely-chiseled tannins and extremely pure red fruit. Citrus-fresh, with a hint of blood orange and yuzu, and almost symmetrical…
