2015 Bordeaux: Every Bottle Tells a Story… (Feb 2018)

The 2015 Bourgneuf is a plump, juicy Pomerol that will drink well upon release. Pliant and expressive, with silky tannins, the 2015 offers plenty of forward fruit, but in a super-classic, mid-weight frame. Tobacco, mint and crushed flowers add layers of nuance. Although not the last word on complexity, the 2015 is really quite lovely…

Southwold: 2016 Bordeaux, Ten Years On

The 2016 Prieuré-Lichine has a bright nose with blackberry, blueberry and light floral scents, quite precise with impressive delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, a bit chewy compared to the Malescot Saint-Exupéry, with a solid, quite structured finish that needs a few more months to soften. Useful! 2016 Bordeaux…It’s All In The Bottle (Jan 2019)

The 2016 Prieuré-Lichine is all class. Floral, silky and nuanced to the core, the 2016 is a wine of pure and total seduction. Freshly cut flowers, vibrant red fruit and creamy tannins all add to the wine’s undeniable allure. In 2016, Prieuré-Lichine is all class, not to mention one of the sleepers of the vintage….

The Future’s Definitely Not What It Was: Bordeaux 2018 (Mar 2021)

The 2018 Plince, which I did not tasted from barrel, has a straightforward nose of dusky, earthy red berry fruit, truffle and light cedar aromas. The palate is better than the nose, delivering well-defined, quite edgy red fruit, fine acidity and quite an elegant finish. I would give this another couple of years in bottle…
