New Releases from Australia (Jul 2005)

Dark red. Pungent floral aromas along with suggestions of bitter cherry, chocolate, saddle leather and dried thyme on the nose. A medium-bodied, moderately concentrated Grange with a juicy quality, displaying sappy but dry flavors of cherry, red plum, anise and lavender. The finish begins plump and lingers impressively, but the tannins are slightly dry.

The Future’s Definitely Not What It Was: Bordeaux 2018 (Mar 2021)

The 2018 Belgrave has a tightly wound bouquet of blackberry, damp earth, freshly rolled tobacco and a very light marine influence. The palate is sweet on the entry with saturated tannins and plenty of ripe black cherry and strawberry fruit, although it needs a little more complexity on the finish.

Never a Dull Vintage in the Northern Rhône (Dec 2022)

Deep, vivid ruby. Highly perfumed, incisive aromas of cherry and raspberry, incense, exotic spices and licorice, plus a bright mineral overtone that builds in the glass. Youthful, palate-staining red and blue fruit and spicecake flavors show superb depth as well as urgency, and a core of juicy acidity adds support and a bracing cut. Finishes…
